Subject Line and Opening Summary
Use a clear subject such as "Appeal Request: Account Restriction Review" and open with the affected account email, product, and timestamp of the notice.
Editable Factual Body Template
"On [Date, Time, Timezone], while using [Product & Environment], I received [Summary of Notice]. My last normal session was at [Time]. My typical workflow involves [Brief Description of Legitimate Use]. I respectfully request a review of this restriction." Keep only statements that match your actual situation.
Attachments and Privacy Redaction
Attach relevant screenshots with sensitive tokens or payment numbers redacted; never include passwords, API keys, or raw cookie values.
Submission and Follow-Up
Submit through the official Anthropic appeal form and wait for an official response on the same thread.
Common Real-World Scenario
For example, remove any troubleshooting lines you did not actually perform so your appeal remains 100% factual.
Adapt the template to verifiable facts
A useful structure has four parts: product and notice time, last successful use and first issue, checks actually completed, and the specific review requested. Include the timezone and key notice wording. Label uncertain details as uncertain and do not invent a location, usage pattern, or troubleshooting history.
For example: “At [time and timezone], [product] displayed [message summary]. My last successful use was [time]. I checked [steps actually taken], but [specific issue] remains. Please review the restriction affecting [account or organization scope] and advise on next steps.” Replace the placeholders with relevant facts rather than submitting them unchanged or adding unnecessary personal data.
Label attachments by time and purpose and include only needed redacted screenshots or error summaries. Exclude passwords, verification codes, API keys, cookie values, and unrelated payment details. Check consistency between the requested scope, timeline, and attachments before submitting. Add later facts to the existing support record rather than sending changing template versions.
